Nick Menza

Nick Menza (1964-2016) was an influential American drummer best known for his work with the thrash metal band Megadeth. He joined the band in 1989 and played on several of their most acclaimed albums, including "Rust in Peace" (1990), "Countdown to Extinction" (1992), and "Youthanasia" (1994). Menza's dynamic drumming style, characterized by intricate rhythms and powerful grooves, significantly contributed to the band's signature sound during the early 1990s, a period often regarded as their peak. Menza's impact on the metal genre is notable; his technical proficiency and energetic performances helped elevate the standard for drumming in heavy music. After leaving Megadeth in 1998, he pursued various musical projects and collaborations, including the band OHM and a brief reunion with Megadeth in 2014. Tragically, Menza passed away in 2016 during a performance with a new band.
